FAC announce strategic partnership with Come Play With Me!

We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with Come Play With Me!

Come Play With Me is a Leeds based, award-winning non-profit music development organisation, specialising in supporting people from marginalised communities to further their careers in music.

Our partnership means we will be working to support the aims of both our organisations, and cooperating to further the impact of each other's work.

Tony Ereira, Come Play With Me founder & director, announced the partnership at the organisations first ever London based event, as they brought their popular ‘I Know A Place’ conference to Coal Drops Yard.

Through this partnership, we aim to make our community more inclusive by connecting our networks of artists through our BEAT board and Ambassadors programme, and help support people from marginalised communities to further their careers in music. Both our organisations are consistently fighting for equality, recognition, fairness and transparency for artists, and continue to be a home for artists from all backgrounds.

David Martin - CEO, Featured Artists Coalition said:

“The brilliant work of the Come Play With Me team in creating opportunity, fostering inclusivity and championing the music industry is naturally aligned with the FAC's aims as the UK's artist body.  Therefore, I'm delighted to announce that we are entering into this strategic partnership.  The FAC exists to represent the rights and interests of all artists at all stages of their careers, this means understanding the challenges faced by artists from every background and ensuring that all are seen and heard.  The track record of CPWM speaks for itself and we are proud to be working with an organisation that has such an authentic and passionate commitment to the experiences and success of LGBTQ+ people in our sector.  I look forward to working together towards greater access, fairness and diversity in the UK's music industry.”

At the bumper edition of the conference, they ran two panel sessions centred around under-represented communities’ roles, work patterns and challenges within music outside of the north. We will work together to connect with artists, particularly from outside of London, for our BEAT Board, Ambassadors programme as well as other groups and events.

Tony Ereira, Come Play With Me founder & director said:

"Against the backdrop of a challenging funding background that is destabilising for us and many peers, I couldn’t be more proud of what this team continues to deliver…..inc. events, new partners, our first new patron - and one that we know very well - and CPWM demonstrating its ability to bring together industry and academic partners to quantify the challenges LGBTQ+ folks in music face. We share a similar ethos and so many aims with FAC that this exciting partnership can only strengthen both organisations and, more importantly, the musicians we represent and support.”
